5x5: The Public Safety Innovation Summit 2026
5x5: The Public Safety Innovation Summit is APCO International's Summit Series event exploring the full arc of public safety innovation, from emerging broadband capabilities to next-generation tools already deployed in the field. APCO International and the First Responder Network Authority, with technical contributions from the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Public Safety Communications Research Division, bring together leaders from public safety, government, industry and academia to advance responder communications technology. The two-day summit takes place December 1-2, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, 9801 International Drive, Orlando, Florida, with registration and breakfast beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the program concluding at 5:10 p.m. each day. The agenda features opening remarks from the FirstNet Authority, NIST PSCR and APCO International's CEO and Executive Director, a keynote on global interoperability, breakout sessions on future FirstNet investment and the new public safety user experience, and a tech demo showcase of innovations in the field. Continuation education credits are available. Audience spans public safety practitioners, researchers, industry and government with a focus on FirstNet use cases, public safety broadband and hands-on experience with emerging technology for emergency communications.
